Ukrainian Air Force informed about the death of the MiG-29 pilot, Capitan Marat Mambetov, during a combat mission at one of the sectors of the frontline on October 1, 2026.

According to avaliable information, his fighter jet was struck by a Russian missile while carrying out strikes against Russian positions. Mambetov was able to eject, but he didn't survive.

Captain Marat Mambetov was a flight commander in the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force.
