A rare ground-level view of the Chonhar crossing connecting occupied Crimea with mainland Ukraine, showing the extent of damage to the original bridge and the improvised Russian alternatives.

Following Ukrainian strikes on June 7 and 9, 2026, Russian forces began constructing a massive earthen causeway alongside the damaged bridge.

The footage shows vehicle using this new crossing, damaged concrete bridge supports and spans, and destroyed sections of the nearby pontoon crossing.

The original bridge remains out of full service, with traffic diverted onto this 'temporary' route.
