In just 24 hours, Tether removed 497 wallet addresses holding around $79 million in USDT from its blacklist.
💸 Most of the unfreezes happened on TRON — 447 addresses. Another ~50 wallets were unlocked on Ethereum. Naturally, the internet immediately exploded with rumors:
Did Tether’s freeze button break?
Because of this, people on X have already started telling everyone to quickly move out of USDT into other stablecoins before the “system collapses.”
However, analysts believe this is not a technical failure at all. Most likely, it’s just another compliance wave from Tether — meaning the company may have lifted restrictions in bulk after investigations were completed, old cases were closed, or certain court decisions were overturned.
