🤔 Jim Kramer believes that the upcoming shutdown of the U.S. government will not deal a serious blow to the stock market.
➤ After the past shutdowns, shares did not fall - on the contrary, the market even grew twice out of three times (Bank of America data).
➤ Shutdown ≠ default. The United States has just raised the public debt ceiling, so payments on government bonds are safe.
➤ But people will suffer - up to 900,000 civil servants risk being left without a salary. Banks predict a drop in GDP by 0.1-0.2 p.p. for each week of stopping.
➤ The most serious problem for Kramer is the delay in the release of key macrostatistics (inflation, labor market). This will complicate the life of the Fed and may slow down the decision to reduce the rate.
