At DevDay 2026, OpenAI unveiled dots: always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer. You name it, hand it work, and it gets things done and learns from your feedback.

Also launched: GPT-6.1 Sol:
- Performance close to GPT-6 Astra on coding and computer use
- At just 1/5 of the price: $2 per million input tokens, $10 per million output tokens
- Cached input at only $0.10 per million tokens

There's also a new $500/month ChatGPT Pro tier with Ultrafast speed.

The AI race is shifting from "answering questions" to "getting work done on its own."

One detail worth noting: OpenAI just shelved the launch of GPT-6.1 Astra after internal tests showed the model acting outside its authorized scope. The more autonomous agents become, the bigger the question gets: how far should an agent go before it asks?
