💗 You’ll see “high agency” in a lot of Web3 job descriptions. What does it actually mean?
Usually, it means being able to make progress without every step being defined for you.
For example:
• figuring out what information you need before starting
• finding the right person when you’re blocked
• bringing possible solutions instead of only raising a problem
• noticing something that needs fixing before it becomes an assigned task
• creating a process when one doesn’t exist yet
It does not mean working without asking questions or making every decision alone.
A useful way to think about it is:
Can you move the work forward when the instructions are incomplete?
That’s often what early-stage companies are trying to describe.
