💗 “Full-time” can mean very different things when a company hires globally.
Before getting deep into a hiring process, it’s worth understanding how the company would actually hire you.
A few things to clarify:
» Employee or contractor?
An employee role may come with statutory benefits and protections depending on the country, while contractors usually handle more of that themselves.
» Which entity hires you?
Some global companies employ people through a local entity or an Employer of Record. Others contract directly from a company based elsewhere.
» How will you be paid? Fiat, stablecoins, or a combination? Monthly or another schedule?
» What does the compensation include? Base pay, bonus, tokens, equity, insurance, paid leave, equipment and other benefits can all change the real value of the offer.
» Are there location restrictions? A company may hire globally but still be unable to employ or contract people in certain countries.
This is why two roles advertising the same annual compensation can still be very different offers.
You don’t need every legal detail before applying, but you should understand the basic employment setup before investing several rounds of interviews into the process.
“Full-time” tells you the workload. It doesn’t always tell you the employment relationship.
