days like today are good examples of why portfolio diversity doesnt really work in bear markets (not saying we're in a bear market). but when bitcoin dumps, everything else usually follows (obv different coins pull back at different rates).
diversity is good in bull markets where you will have different coins having different rate of returns. but the only true way to hedge against downside is to have a few pair trades ie. some longs and some shorts. its tricky finding the best shorts in these situations bc usually the best shorts are former strong coins. an example might a coin like PUMP, which moved very strong before but is looking a bit weaker the last few weeks. (Not saying you should short pump, there are better coins out there to short imo). But definitely an interesting spot here
