⚛️ Ethereum vs. The Quantum Clock
Ethereum is officially preparing for the quantum era.
The Ethereum Foundation’s Protocol Cluster has set December 2029 as its target for making Ethereum L1 quantum-resistant across execution, consensus, and data layers. The Foundation is currently planning for the possibility of “Q-Day” arriving as early as 2030, while acknowledging that this is a deliberately aggressive assumption.

The roadmap is ambitious:

🔹 Roadmap: Hegotá + 5 hard forks
🔹 Required pace: ~7.2 months per fork
🔹 Hegotá: The first major test of whether the later post-quantum upgrades can stay on schedule.

A separate Project Eleven 2026 report estimates that around 65% of ETH sits in quantum-vulnerable addresses. However, this should not be interpreted as 65% of ETH being immediately at risk today
