Three Canadian Soldiers Among Seven Arrested in Toronto Crypto Kidnapping Case

Seven people — including three active members of the Canadian Armed Forces — have been arrested in connection with a kidnapping investigation in Toronto linked to an attempted cryptocurrency theft. Police have filed 82 criminal charges across the group.

Toronto police confirmed the arrests, with the involvement of military personnel making the case unusual for a crypto-related crime. Authorities have not publicly detailed the specific cryptocurrency targeted or the amount involved, but the case centers on an alleged attempt to forcibly steal digital assets from a victim.

The filing of 82 charges across seven individuals suggests a coordinated operation. The Canadian Armed Forces have not yet issued a public statement on the status of the three soldiers involved.
