Three Canadian Soldiers Among Seven Arrested in Toronto Crypto Kidnapping Probe

Seven people, including three serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, have been arrested in Toronto in connection with an alleged kidnapping and attempted cryptocurrency theft. Police say a total of 82 criminal charges have been laid.

The involvement of military personnel makes the case unusual. Authorities have not disclosed which cryptocurrency was targeted or how much was at stake, but say the investigation concerns an alleged attempt to take digital assets from a victim by force.

The 82 charges across seven suspects point to a potentially coordinated operation. The Canadian Armed Forces have not yet commented on the three soldiers’ status.
