🇪🇺 USDC Receives MiCA Recognition
The EBA has designated Circle’s USDC as a significant e-money token under MiCA—the first stablecoin in the EU to receive this status.
Starting 12 November 2026, the EBA and France’s ACPR will supervise USDC jointly. The EBA will oversee its capital, reserves, liquidity and redemption arrangements.
Meanwhile, the ECB is exploring a digital euro, which could launch in 2029, subject to legislation and a pilot.
