A bit more on what i like in cinematography and books in case you want to recommend a thing as these spheres have overlaps
Cinema: basic(based) stuff like Breaking Bad and BCS is on top
Really love shows with "special" character in center like House M.D., Dr Who, Sherlock, Dexter
Really love mystic but in realism - like X-files, Supernatural or LOST. Movie-wise - Stuff from Tarantino, Fincher, Guy Ritchie. Thriller and Drama is probably my focus, i like dark vibes.
Also post apoc like first few seasons of walking dead, Finch, despair vibes are good ones too lmao

Books: Not so much i read in my life, and half of that i didnt record and forgot. But. I like realism with a tint of mystic or fantasy, again thrillers, dramas, post apoc.
First half of King's The stand, before it becomes, i guess, the stand :D, couple of other his novels, and bunch of his storybooks, The Road(too much despair tho lol).
Again special characters in focus, currently reading dexter(feels like its dropping in quality on 5th or whatever book im rn), Kings Firestarter(and some his other which i forgot), Dorian Gray(half of inspiration for my bunny char🐰)

TLDR: i prefer local over scale, atmosphere, emotions and people over effects, thriller over easiness. Some dark slice of life with or without a bit of something unrealistic is perfect i guess. No, i dont watch anime xd
