⚠️ JUST IN: $4.5M Telegram Exploit

A user exploited a Telegram bot payment/refund vulnerability for nearly two months, generating around $4.5 million worth of Stars.

Exploit Details:
The exploit worked by abusing a refund bug in Telegram Stars purchases. After buying stars through a bot, the user could purchase certain gifts and trigger a refund, but not all of the stars were removed from the balance.

Because part of the refunded stars stayed behind, the process could be repeated to build up a large stars balance through the bug.

Around $1.5 million was reportedly withdrawn before Telegram blocked gift transfers. The stars were used to buy expensive gifts, including rare Plush Pepe NFTs.
