🌐 CloudBank|Do Financial Markets Still Need to “Close”?
An interesting shift is taking place in global financial markets.
OKXICE, a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has filed with the U.S. SEC to launch a tokenized securities trading platform designed for 24/7 trading of U.S. stocks. The proposed platform plans to initially cover more than 60 U.S.-listed companies.
But what really matters here isn't simply that stocks are moving on-chain.
It's something bigger:
Traditional finance is increasingly adopting crypto-native infrastructure.
In the past:
🏦 Fixed trading hours
📅 Defined settlement cycles
🌍 Markets constrained by geography and time zones
On-chain finance is moving toward:
⚡ 24/7 markets
🔗 Assets and markets on-chain
🌍 More open global liquidity
📊 More efficient trading and settlement
The SEC's recent “Innovation Exemption” has also opened a new regulatory pathway for certain tokenized securities venues, allowing qualified market participants to experiment with on-chain trading under specific conditions.
And that raises a bigger question:
Will the markets of tomorrow look more like a global financial network that never closes?
This is also one of the directions CloudBank DEX is building toward.
Not simply moving an “exchange” onto a blockchain,
but connecting:
Assets → Liquidity → Markets → Trading
into a more open on-chain financial infrastructure.
From traditional Trading Hours
to Always-On Markets.
Financial markets are changing.
And the infrastructure behind the next generation of markets is changing with them.
