Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan:

We say to you: our pledge to you is that you and we shall keep our heads held high; we shall all keep our heads held high.

We will not compromise, nor is there anything that will make us any less than anyone else or cause us to bow down to anyone.

We are Sudanese; we were raised in Sudan and have eaten the food of the Sudanese people. We will not betray our principles, nor will we change our course.

No one can blackmail us, no one can intimidate us, and no one has any hold over us. As long as you stand firm, we are reassured; and as long as you stand firm, the Sudanese people are reassured.
