The U.S. is pressuring Iran’s remaining trade partners to cut banking and aviation ties with Tehran. Treasury official Jonathan Burke traveled across the Middle East and Europe, warning countries they must choose between trading with Iran or maintaining ties with Washington.

The pressure campaign has already led to flight bans, banking restrictions and further isolation of Iran.

Oman, the UAE, Türkiye and other countries have taken steps against Iranian airlines and banks, while more than 50 countries were contacted by U.S. officials.
