Finland and Sweden scrambled fighter jets together for the first time to identify Russian military aircraft in international airspace over the Gulf of Finland.

Finnish F/A-18 Hornets and Swedish JAS 39 Gripens intercepted Russian transport aircraft and warplanes as part of deeper defense cooperation between the two NATO members.
