Iran has offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if the U.S. takes initial steps to ease military pressure, according to an unnamed Iranian official cited by Japan’s Kyodo News.

The proposal, reportedly sent to Washington through mediators, calls for renewed talks toward a permanent end to hostilities.

The official said an agreement remained possible but ruled out a Trump-Pezeshkian meeting at the UN General Assembly.
