Saudi Arabia has signaled it may launch a major military operation against the Houthis even without direct U.S. involvement, according to a U.S. official.

Riyadh has not made a final decision, but Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pressed Trump for U.S. military intervention in two calls Thursday.

For now, Washington is offering intelligence and targeting support but is not planning direct strikes in Yemen.
