A few weeks ago, I traveled through Ukraine. I drove through small Ukrainian towns and villages. In every single village along that road, there was a board displaying photographs of young men from that village who had died in the war.

For six hours, I passed through these villages, seeing evidence of the cruelty of this war. Every one of these local heroes had a mother and father. Some had children. They died in a war they did not want.
