The White House has launched a new framework allowing vetted U.S. cybersecurity companies to conduct government-authorized offensive cyber operations against foreign cybercrime groups.

Approved companies could disrupt, degrade, manipulate, deny, or destroy criminal infrastructure under federal oversight.

In short: private-sector “hack back” is getting an official U.S. framework.
