📌 The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has approved Rilzabrutinib, the first oral Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor for the treatment of Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), a rare autoimmune disorder.

🔹️This makes the UAE the first country to authorise this medication. The drug, developed by Sanofi, targets the underlying cause of ITP and increases platelet counts, addressing both the symptoms and root causes of the condition.

🔹️Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director-General of the EDE, stated that the approval aligns with the UAE’s commitment to providing access to the latest therapeutic innovations and enhancing national pharmaceutical security.
