The economic impact of refugees from Ukraine on the Polish economy in 2025 amounted to 2.4% of GDP.
$25 billion is a huge amount of money. It is roughly equivalent to the annual value added of Poland’s entire agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, or the annual value added of Ukraine’s entire wholesale and retail trade sector.
At the same time, one should take a critical view of the media’s claims that Ukrainians are saving the Polish economy from decline and that without them, Poland would have faced financial collapse altogether.
