🇸🇩⚔️🇸🇩 Sudan's army captures Sodari, extending its push across North Kordofan toward Darfur
Sudanese army troops and allied Joint Force fighters, a coalition of former Darfur rebel groups, captured the North Kordofan town of Sodari on Friday, the army said, claiming heavy losses on the Rapid Support Forces.
Sudans Post geolocated videos showing troops inside the town, which had served as the RSF's main operational base in the state, according to Sudan Tribune.
The advance caps an offensive that began in late July, when the army retook the strategic highway linking El Obeid to Khartoum, and a September 17 push the army says captured 11 more areas.
The RSF still holds parts of Sodari locality and positions west and south of El Obeid, as well as most of Darfur, its main stronghold in western Sudan.
