🇪🇹 Ethiopia map update: the situation in northern Ethiopia on 29/09/2026. Day 1 of the new war.

-In Tigray the TPLF captured the airports of Mekelle, Shire & Axum, consolidating their hold over the region.

-In Afar, a newly emerged group of ANURF has seized the town of Abala.

Need to stress that this is an approximate situation as the military balance in Amhara and Oromia in particular is very fluid. In the coming time clear territories of control will probably crystallise.
