🇸🇩⚔️🇸🇩 The RSF is launching counterattacks across Sudan to reverse SAF gains from July 2026.

The RSF has captured key towns on the Ethiopian border in Blue Nile state, attacked SAF positions on key highways near the SAF’s headquarters in central Sudan, and conducted drone strikes on SAF-controlled population centers.

The RSF separately attacked SAF positions on highways north, south, and west of el Obeid—the SAF’s headquarters in central Sudan—following the SAF consolidating control of the main northern el Obeid-Khartoum supply line on July 26.

The RSF launched a large-scale assault on Jabrat al Sheikh, which the SAF recently captured approximately 105 miles north of el Obeid on the el Obeid-Khartoum highway, on August 13.

The SAF and its allies repelled the assault, in which the RSF reportedly used around 200 combat vehicles.

The RSF also attacked SAF positions in um Arada and al Ayara, two small towns located approximately 10 miles south and west of el Obeid, respectively.

The RSF also conducted extensive drone strikes on SAF-controlled population centers on August 12 and August 13.

The RSF struck el Obeid and Omdurman, Khartoum’s twin city, reportedly damaging SAF facilities in both cities.

The RSF also attempted to conduct strikes in Atbara and al Damer, two cities on the Nile approximately 200 miles north of Khartoum, but the SAF claimed to have interdicted the drones.
