🚩 Glenn Greenwald on the Latest Threats Governments are Making Against Rumble & X to Begin Censoring Speech Again

"The US government can punish big tech in a lot of different ways. They threaten legal and regulatory reprisals if they don't obey. And the thing the government cares most about, or where they tolerate the least amount of dissent, is on foreign policy and wars.

They think [Elon is] a more vulnerable target, where they're threatening him and saying, 'If you don't start censoring more, going back to how things were before you bought Twitter, we're going to declare you to be in violation of our law.' This new law they have called the Digital Services Act. And in the UK, it's a similar law. It's called the Online Privacy Act, nice and Orwellian, that says we're just here to keep the internet safe, when of course it is designed to give them the power to dictate to the social media companies what speech they can and can't have.
