🎬 Apple built a mini F1 cam… using an iPhone

For their upcoming Formula 1 movie, Apple engineers custom-built onboard cameras using — wait for it — iPhone guts. Broadcast cams? Too meh. They needed something cinematic.
Inside: likely an iPhone 15 Pro sensor, an Apple A17 Pro chip, battery, and a custom light filter — all running on iOS with special firmware. The camera shoots Apple ProRes and connects via USB to an iPad for manual frame rate, shutter, and color temp tweaks. 🎛️
It didn’t replace REDs or ARRIs, but gave the crew insane POVs from inside race cars blasting over 300 km/h. You’ll see them in theaters June 23 — then on Apple TV+.
