Cashless bail is an abomination.

The only purpose of it is to create a revolving door where repeat criminals can be arrested dozens of times, only to be immediately released. Every time, they feel even more emboldened to commit additional crimes, drain police resources, and terrorize their communities.

- In Washington, DC, former MPD Chief Robert Contee said the average homicide suspect has been arrested 11 times prior to them committing a homicide.

- In NYC, a suspect with 21 prior arrests was released under bail reform and later killed NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller during a traffic stop.

- Jordan Neely, who was subdued by Daniel Penny before he died, had been arrested 42 times for petty larceny, theft, jumping subway turnstiles, and assaults. But the city was content to let him roam freely until he either killed somebody or got himself killed instead.

- In 2022, 327 individuals accounted for nearly one-third of shoplifting arrests in New York City. They were collectively re-arrested more than 6,000 times. Thanks to this handful of people, 8 million other New Yorkers have to suffer.

Most of the crime in big cities is committed by a relatively small population of repeat offenders who need to be locked up.

It's not racist. It's not cruel. What it is, is finally showing compassion to children, families, and law-abiding citizens instead of those who prey on them.
