85 YEARS

Earlier, when I first found myself at the source of the Dnieper in the Smolensk region.

While developing it, I studied the history of this area.

What I want to tell you about is connected with the Great Patriotic War, or more precisely, with 1941.

It was here,from October 8th to 12th, near the village of Dudkino, that a battalion of the 119th Krasnoyarsk Rifle Division, under the command of Captain Sergei Ivanov, heroically defending our homeland, almost all of whom perished.
Having held back the superior forces of the fascist invaders, who were rushing toward Rzhev (49 km from this point), and then toward Moscow.

On October 9 alone, the battalion repelled 11 attacks.
780 soldiers and officers, including the commander, were killed in the fighting.

85 years have passed.

Today, together with the residents participating in the creation of the memorial complex,we honored the memory of the HEROES who gave their lives for OUR COUNTRY and OUR FUTURE.

Not far from the PLACE OF FEAT is a PLACE OF MEMORY.

Local residents were able to bury the soldiers and officers who died in October 1941 in various places.
One of the known burial sites is near the village of Aksyonino (which, unfortunately, is not even on the map today).

OUR GOAL IS TO DO EVERYTHING TO PRESERVE THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO MAKE US LIVE.

NOT TO ALLOW HISTORY TO BE REWRITTEN AND NOT TO LET THE WORLD FORGET WHO SAVED HUMANITY FROM FASCISM AND AT WHAT PRICE THE VICTORY WAS WON.

Over the past few years, we have managed to create a small memorial complex at the SITE OF THE FEAT, which we plan to expand next year.

And at the MEMORIAL SITE, which has also been developed, there are plans to erect a monument to the fallen HEROES in 2027.
