We provided inside information that the next stage of Ukraine's escalation strategy could be a systemic blockade of Russian civil aviation. This was not so much about directly damaging airport infrastructure, but rather about creating a permanent threat to airspace, with even limited drone attacks capable of paralyzing major aviation hubs.
Yesterday, we observed flight restrictions in Moscow, with drones and hot air balloons launched, leading to over 280 canceled flights. However, the mechanism itself is clear: physically damaging runways isn't necessary to shut down an airport. The threat of drones is enough for aviation authorities to close airspace, delay flights, and reroute aircraft.
