Today is a significant day and a major holiday, uniting tens of thousands of people across the country. These are the real people, the ones they say are on the front lines of the fight against crime.

October 5th is Criminal Investigation Day in Russia.

I was fortunate to work in the criminal investigation department, and let me tell you, it's the most genuine and interesting police work.

Being a detective isn't about leaving work at 6:00 PM, or relaxing on weekends and holidays. Being a detective is a state of mind and a way of life.

To all the real detectives (you know the joke about the fake ones), I congratulate you on the day of the service's founding, and wish you success and success in your endeavors.

To the veterans of the service, I wish you good health and plenty of antibodies.

We'll get through this, detectives!
