‼️🇩🇪🇺🇦Merz denied Zelenskyy's request for Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU at a meeting in Kyiv, - Politico

Merz is skeptical about the possibility of Ukraine's full membership in the European Union in the coming years and proposes only "associate membership." This would give Kyiv access to the EU single market and observer status in the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, and the European Parliament, but without voting rights.
Zelenskyy rejected this, saying Ukraine needs "full and equal" membership in the EU.
The issue of Ukraine's accession to the European Union remains one of the main disagreements between Merz and Zelenskyy, Politico writes. ▪️Europe also denied Zelensky additional payments to cover the budget deficit.
