Germany has committed to phasing out fossil fuels by 2045, with a goal of achieving an 80% renewable share of electricity by 2030.

The proposed roadmap outlines the addition of 12 GW of new onshore wind capacity and 215 GW of solar capacity, alongside a 30% reduction in methane emissions by 2030. Furthermore, coal usage is scheduled to cease by 2038.
