Hurricane Lowell is closing in on Hawaii as a Category 3 storm, with Kauai under hurricane warnings for possible hurricane-force gusts, dangerous surf, rip currents, and flash flooding from over a foot of rain. The worst is expected Monday night into Tuesday morning before conditions improve by midweek.
