🇺🇸 Donald Trump signed an executive order on the creation of a quantum computer capable of breaking modern encryption.

The second executive order (Executive Order 14409) is dedicated to protection against the very machine that the government is planning to build.
Coindesk Quantum computing is often seen as a risk to bitcoin. Now Trump wants to develop it. The White House issued twin executive orders to accelerate U.S. development of large-scale quantum computers while simultaneously hardening defenses against such machines.
