Hello, blindGram v14.5 Beta 5 is released.
changes include:
- Notifications and messages arrive in the background again: pushes were being rejected by Google, so nothing was delivered while the app was closed.
- Messages keep coming after a VPN or network handover: connections are rebuilt and anything missed while the old one was dead is fetched.
- Video and music downloads no longer stop at 97 or 99 percent.
- New search in the blindGram Area: each screen searches itself and everything under it, and choosing a result goes straight to that setting with the reading cursor on it.
- Backups survive uninstalling and reinstalling: they are kept in a public folder, restore finds them by itself or opens the system file picker, and both backup and restore now say what happened.
- Incoming calls: Answer and Decline can be reached, named and activated with a screen reader, in the call screen and in the notification, and a video call says that it is one.
- The End call button is back in a video chat: it and the message button were built but never put on the screen, so leaving a call meant the notification.
- The Confirm button when editing a message can be found and pressed again, and Enter or Done on the keyboard confirms the edit.
- The elapsed time is back in the top bar player, and the track name and time are read before the rewind, play and forward buttons.
- The Previous and Next search buttons sit below "Go to bottom" when that option is on, are read in the order they are drawn, and the option applies without restarting the app.
- No more stray "v" after the search filter and its options.
- New option to hide the search button behind a channel's Join or Mute bar.
- Links in a rich message: every link in every part of the message is offered, including tables, code and later paragraphs, not only the first preview.
- Every answer the AI gives is kept for a week, so the same photo, voice message or text is never sent, waited for or paid for twice; asking the same thing at the same moment asks once.
- Saved phrases live on the AI screen only, start with three questions worth asking, and a phrase is deleted by a long press instead of an extra row to walk past.
- A summary is a summary again: it no longer comes back as the model thinking out loud, and a typed message is summarized as written rather than treated as something misheard.
- Ask AI no longer shows and sends the message twice, and the message being asked about is shown and read as yours.
- An arriving answer is felt as two pulses, so a silent phone still tells you the answer landed.
- The sender's group tag is read as the tag alone, and announcing it can be turned off under Messages.
- The new message count no longer interrupts what you are reading in a busy channel: it is read when you reach the button instead of every time it changes.
- Voice messages no longer arrive on their own while one is playing when "Auto-download small attachments" is off.
- The gift button is hidden in every place it appears, not only on a profile.
- Crash reports now reach the server, so reported problems are actually seen.
- Fixed two crashes: reading any AI setting on a fresh install, and "How does it work?" in an empty archive.
- Fixed reported bugs.
