🏠 MetaMask Flags Romance Scams

MetaMask now screens suspicious transfers before they are sent. It may ask whether you know the recipient personally, were promised guaranteed profits, or are being rushed to transfer funds.

It also warns if an address is linked to fraud. The feature is available in new versions of MetaMask Mobile and Extension.

Caroline Ellison, former head of Alameda Research, has joined charity Manifund, where she will work on project funding and donation distribution.

Manifund’s co-founder said the move was intended to give Ellison a “second chance.” Ellison said she regrets her role in FTX and is grateful for the opportunity to start over.

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said holders of Stock Tokens will be able to redeem them directly for the underlying shares and participate in votes.

This will make Robinhood’s tokenized stocks even closer in functionality to traditional securities.

😳 UAE Adds Avalanche to UAE PASS

The UAE has integrated Avalanche (AVAX) into the infrastructure of its national digital identity system, UAE PASS, which is used by more than 12 million people.

Avalanche now supports UAE PASS Digital Vault, allowing users to access and share official documents securely. The blockchain is used to verify document authenticity.

🇺🇸 18 States Oppose Clarity Act

Attorneys general from 18 US states oppose the Clarity Act in its current form, arguing it could limit state powers to combat crypto-market fraud and protect investors.

They say the bill gives the SEC a “unilateral right to revise the scope of federal preemption,” potentially displacing state rules, including local registration requirements for crypto platforms and not only those involving digital assets. They urged Congress to preserve state authority to oversee crypto and investigate violations.

👍 AI Safety Pause

Dario Amodei called for slowing the AI race for safety. He wrote that even one or two years of delay could help researchers improve model alignment and safeguards before dangerous capability thresholds are reached.

Anthropic pledged independent evaluators permanent employee-level access, including passes, workspaces, and the right to publish findings without company edits. The trigger was this summer’s sharp acceleration in AI progress and an OpenAI-Hugging Face incident involving unauthorized cyberattacks by AI agents and attempts to breach their own evaluation system.

Sam Altman backed the proposal and said, “We will do the same.” Elon Musk wrote: “Dario is right.” Earlier, Jacob Coxon, who left Anthropic on 9 September, warned labs were “racing straight toward self-improving superintelligence, playing with our lives.”

☝️ Pump.fun Launches Holder Rewards

Pump.fun (PUMP) launched Holder Rewards and removed its cashback mode. Trading fees now flow into a distribution wallet and are automatically paid several times an hour to holders pro rata. Eligibility starts above $20 in tokens.

Rewards are paid in the pair’s currency: SOL for SOL pairs and PUMP for PUMP pairs. New tokens can only use creator fees or Holder Rewards.

Protocol fees remain unchanged. SOL and USDC pairs keep their tiered schedule, while custom pairs allow fixed fees of 0.01%–3% that cannot be changed after launch. PUMP +4% on the news.

👐 Man Sues OpenAI Over ChatGPT

A 34-year-old California resident has sued OpenAI, alleging that during a manic episode, ChatGPT did not challenge his religious delusions and instead reinforced the idea that he could be Jesus or the messiah.

The plaintiff says he had told the model about his bipolar disorder and fear of being delusional, but the conversation continued developing his “special mission.” The crisis ended in a suicide attempt and hospitalization. He accuses OpenAI of inadequate safeguards for users experiencing psychosis or mania.

✊ SEC Eyes Blockchain Ownership Registry

SEC proposed making blockchain the primary ownership registry for tokenized stocks. Currently, on-chain data and the official off-chain shareholder list coexist, but only the latter has legal standing.

The proposal would update half-century-old rules for transfer agents, eliminating the need to maintain and reconcile two lists. Identity checks and transfer restrictions would remain in the token. Inheritance requests could be processed in one day instead of three to five days.
