🌍 THREE COUNTRIES HOST 65.4% OF ESTIMATED BITCOIN HASHRATE
Bitcoin mining is global.
But most estimated mining power remains concentrated in just three countries.
According to Hashrate Index's latest geographic estimates:
🇺🇸 United States: 35.6%
🇷🇺 Russia: 18.1%
🇨🇳 China: 11.7%
Combined:
65.4%
of estimated global Bitcoin hashrate.
The balance is also shifting.
Since the previous report:
• U.S. share fell from 36.7%
• Russia rose from 17.2%
• China fell from 12.2%
Estimated global network hashrate remained nearly flat at roughly:
941 EH/s
One of the most notable changes is Russia.
Its estimated hashrate increased from about:
162 EH/s → 170 EH/s
Important distinction:
These are geographic estimates.
They do NOT tell us:
• Who owns the mining machines
• Who controls the mining pools
• Who chooses transactions for blocks
Location is not the same thing as control.
Still, mining geography matters.
Energy policy, regulation and power availability can change where Bitcoin's security infrastructure operates.
The network stays global.
The map underneath it keeps moving.
