Russia's newest wheeled 2S44 "Гиацинт-К"self-propelled gun system

According to known information, these 2S44 "Гиацинт-К" systems are a new variant of the 2S43 Malva self-propelled gun on the BAZ-6910-027 (8×8) wheeled chassis, with the installation of the swinging part of the 152-mm/50 towed gun 2A36 "Гиацинт-К".

Images with the use of this SAU were published as early as the end of 2024, but there was no significant information about it. At the moment it is known that the 2S44 "Гиацинт-К" has a high level of automation. Due to the modern fire control system, the SAU is able to make the necessary calculations for firing independently. The self-propelled vehicle can also move to the combat and marching position automatically in 2-3 minutes. At the same time, the automation can indicate to the driver the route to the firing position.

The firing range of 2S44 special shells can reach 40-50 kilometers. As protection of the artillery installation from drones, the upper part of the artillery unit is equipped with special hinged lattice screens. The platform of the Bryansk Automobile Plant with an engine capacity of 470 hp is used as a base. The vehicle has armored control cabin, which significantly increases the crew's protection from artillery shrapnel.
