Rare American armored vehicle Oshkosh M-ATV has been destroyed

Telegram-channel “Уголок Ситха” published a photo of the destroyed Oshkosh M-ATV worth as much as 450 thousand dollars. This miracle of technology is the “successor” of the Humvee.

In 2009, the M-ATV replaced the 30-year-old Humvee. It is equipped with an armored compartment-capsule for crew and passengers and bulletproof glazing, and the bottom of the body-capsule has a V-shaped cross-section, allowing to divert the shock wave of the explosion to the sides.

According to the manufacturer's statement - the armored vehicle should easily withstand a mine explosion or fire from any machine gun (its predecessor “Humvee” could not).

In reality, it is not much superior to the HMMWV in terms of protection. Questions about the Oshkosh M-ATV arose during its use by the Saudi army in the war in Yemen. The ultra-modern M-ATVs were easily destroyed not only with mines, ATGMs, RPGs, but also with large-caliber machine guns.
