Russia’s New ‘Iskander-1000’ Ballistic Missile Boasts Doubled Range and Greater Accuracy

According to Military Watch Magazine Russia may soon start production of a new variant of "Iskander-M" missiles with increased range and accuracy.

It is expected that the range of the new missile will be doubled and will be about a thousand kilometers. According to the publication, this will be done through the use of a new engine and increased fuel reserve. The new variant of "Iskander-M" will take the place between the original "Iskander-M" and "Oreshnik".

In this way, the "Iskander-M" will provide Russia with an signifacant advantage over NATO forces in Europe, as the combination of mobility, high accuracy, warhead diversity and a complex trajectory that makes the missile difficult to intercept makes it a very valuable asset.
