Bergepanzer 2 began to be fitted with dynamic defense elements

Due to the weak armor of the Bergepanzer 2 (in the most protected areas it does not exceed 35 mm), it is almost impossible to use this armored recovery vehicle in a real combat situation. To solve this problem, AFU began to equip them with “Contact-1” dynamic defense elements.

Entire hull, including the rear, was covered with "Contact-1" elements. Moreover, electromagnetic warfare system was installed on the roof. With two 7.62-mm MG3 machine guns, installed from the factory, it should provide sufficient protection for the vehicle. But even after such measures the vehicle can be easily destroyed by ammunition with tandem warheads (enemy has no effective defense against them).
