"Adjutant” complex was used for the first time to test the ship's air defense system
Universal target training complex was successfully used as a simulator of anti-submarine cruise missiles to test the air defense system of one of the Russian Navy ships.
“Adjutant” is the most advanced target system for training air defense fire unit. On a single chassis, it houses all the necessary elements and reusable targets simulating modern means of air attack, including cruise missiles, airplanes, helicopters and drones. The complex can take out up to six target simulators at once, imitating a massive raid.
During the tests, the shore-based air attack vehicle was simulated by two airborne targets of the airplane type with a turbojet engine. They were launched 7 kilometers from the sea. The flight trajectory corresponded to the tactics of anti-ship cruise missiles.
According to Ziyatdinov, general director of the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol, at the first stage the Adjutant circled the ship's air defense complex and conditionally hit the target. The overflight was hampered by weather conditions - the target had to be landed on the ground in a strong wind. Nevertheless, the target fully worked out the program. The marching section of the flight took place at an altitude of 150 meters. When approaching the ship, the target performed a calibration maneuver, climbing to a height of 1,500 meters.
