Russian Armed Forces started operating new types of drones
Russian Armed Forces started to use FPV drones equipped with a bamboo frame and a camera with a motion sensor. Bamboo frame is simple and cheap to produce, not visible on radar and not detected by metal detector. Camera trap mode saves battery power and hides the drone from electronic reconnaissance equipment. The camera and communication are activated when something moves near the drone. The same principle is used in nature reserves to record the movements of wild animals.
Bamboo frame ensures that the camera is installed at a sufficient height, which allows you to monitor the movements of enemy regardless of the terrain. Operator can select the route the enemy is traveling and install a sensor to track its movements.
Camera-photo traps are able to record the movement of objects in the line of sight. Russian Armed Forces have been equipped with complexes of reconnaissance and signaling equipment (such as 1K144) installed behind enemy lines by reconnaissance teams or from helicopters for a long time. These sensors are capable of detecting the movement of people or equipment by ground vibrations, identifying seismic noises and transmitting detection signals to control panels.
