More chilling details are emerging from the attempted terrorist hijacking of a flight from Dubai to Israel.

Officials say the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain during the flight, triggering a violent cockpit struggle. Cabin crew entered the cockpit and took control as the aircraft rapidly plunged nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds.

The passengers were seen screaming in panic and fear.

The aircraft transmitted a 7700 general emergency signal, followed by 7500 the code indicating unlawful interference/possible hijacking. Israel scrambled fighter jets as the plane diverted toward Saudi Arabia.

This could have been catastrophic. Thank God the passengers acted quickly and prevented a massive tragedy.
