1. Raised above a concrete stylobate, the complex is protected from seasonal flooding and drifting ice during the spring thaw. Major public functions are elevated to the second level, allowing water flows and natural terrain to pass beneath the structure.

2. Above the concrete foundation, the complex is constructed entirely from timber using two different structural systems. The research center tower relies on an external wooden structural frame that emphasizes openness and flexibility of the interior spaces. In contrast, the hotel tower is assembled from self-supporting modular room units organized around a central core.
