💡 Novelty & Significance:
This work pioneers molecular precursor engineering to tune endogenous functional groups in hard carbon anodes, directly controlling SEI chemistry. It reveals that ‐COOH groups yield a thin NaF-rich SEI, enabling 87.9% initial Coulombic efficiency and 95.7% capacity retention after 200 cycles. This provides a generalizable design principle linking precursor chemistry to interfacial control for high-performance sodium-ion batteries.
