The Zionist Entity and the Appearance of Imam al-Mahdi (aj)
— By Sayyed Ja‘far Murtada al-‘Amili (ra), Questions Concerning the Appearance of Imam al-Mahdi (2003)

What we read in the Holy Qur’an indicates, according to this interpretation, that a state will emerge and that, toward the end of time, there will be corruption, transgression, and arrogance on the part of the Jews.

They will engage in major confrontations and conflicts with the people of truth.

This development took place approximately fifty years ago, and we continue to witness its events and unfolding chapters today.

This was also accompanied by the issue of the transfer of the religious seminary from Najaf to Qom.

It has been stated that narrations indicated that this would occur near the time of the Appearance.

Approximately thirty years have now passed since the seminary’s transfer, and all of this is presented as an indication that the Israeli event that took place occurred near the time of the Appearance of our Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah, the Exalted, hasten his reappearance (according to the textual interpretation).

The question, however, is this:

— Could bada’ (a change in what is manifested to human beings concerning a divinely ordained course of events) occur over the period of time between us and the Imam, may Allah hasten his reappearance?

— What would its extent be, and how would events be dealt with?

— Would such an approach to these events delay the Appearance, or would it bring it closer?

This is something we do not know.
